Vortex, hydroelectric power turbine
I designed, engineered and fabricated the Vortex power generator for the Green School, Bali. This is a non invasive micro hydro plant and is coupled with a solar array to power the Green School Bali, taking it off grid dependancy.
Water is diverted into the rotation tank via a wear and two gates. (one into the rotation tank, the other back into the river ). The water enters the rotation tank and a vortex is formed .
This Vortex drives a turbine which is coupled via 100mm diameter stainless steel shaft to a 15 Kw permanent magnet generator. This generator produces AC electricity which is then inverted into a DC power signal in order to provide power to the battery banks and then onto the school.

Vortex output
RPM: 52
Capacity : 15 Kw
